of state license is valid for 30 days. Minimum
age requirement: 15 for learner's permit, 16 for license. New
drivers must have birth certificate, social security card, marriage
license if married and proof of GA residence. All 16-year-old
drivers must have proof of completion of Alcohol Drug Awareness
Program. Written and driving tests are required. Written test

Georgia tags must be purchased within 30 days of establishing
residence. You will need proof of insurance, current tag registration,
emission inspection (for all gas-burning vehicles 1975 or newer,
cost for emission inspection is $25), mileage reading and title
of name of lienholder, or copy of lease agreement. License plates
and vehicle stickers that go on them must be renewed annually.
Registration period is based on birthday of the owner. There is
a 30-day renewal period ending at midnight on your birthday. In
the case of a leased vehicle, the lessee's birthday determines
the registration period, not the name of the leasing company.
